Have you guys ever clicked on something and then as soon as you see the content you think “I’m in a funnel”.

Or you purchased a info product and then later after purchasing it, realized that you were funneled into it.

That has happened to me many times.

By the end of this article, you’ll know exactly how to get people into your funnel and buying in no time.

What is a Sales Funnel?

A Sales Funnel is a consumer focused marketing model which illustrates the theoretical customers journey towards the purchase of a product or service.

When people hear the phrase “Sales Funnel” they think of sleazy sales pitches like “You can’t live without this product. Buy today!” OR they just feel plain ole disgusting “tricking or manipulating” people into buying their product.

I want you to know that a Sales Funnel is not either of those things and if you feel that way after you put your funnel in place, you’re doing it all wrong my friend.

The before math

There’s so many crucial things that need to be in place before you set up your funnel. Imagine inviting people over for a party but no one’s home and the lights are off when they show up. They’ll leave right?!

That’s NOT what you want!

Here are some major key things you need to have in place before setting up your Sales Funnel (no worries, we’ll touch on how to put it in place later):

  • Product
  • Opt-in(s)
  • Targeted audience interested in your content
  • Email list
  • Quality content

It’s really good to know what your product would be before setting up your funnel because the goal is to tailor your audiences entire experience towards that specific product.

You want your main product to be their only logical choice after landing inside of your funnel. For an example: If you’re hosting one of the most epic party’s of the year and you also happen to be an amazing photographer who took great photos of everyone at the party…of course they’re going to want to buy those really great photos that were taken of them at the most epic party of the year.

That’s what you want. You want your main product to be a “no brainer” for your audience.

Really good examples of opt-ins would be:

  • eBooks
  • Guides
  • Webinars

It’s best if these products are free as you want to gain your audience trust. Your overall goal should be to add value to their life and in return for your services, you make a profit. Side note: as long as your pushing out quality content and adding value to your audiences life, even if they don’t buy your main product, you still gained a loyal follower. It’s a win-win.

Target Audience 

Finding and knowing who your target audience is before putting your funnel in place is important because without them it’s going to be very similar to looking for a needle in a hay-sack. (& I mean a very large hay-sack with one tiny needle)

When your content isn’t tailored towards one specific group of people or person, every now and then someone will purchase your product but in most cases, you’ll be reaching the wrong people.

Raise your hand if you’ve worked extremely hard on something only to make $0 in return.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that back then, I had no idea who my target audience was. It’s easy to feel like it’s not important to focus on but it is EVERYTHING!

I’ll even share with you guys a worksheet from my discontinued course that has helped hundreds of people pinpoint their target audience.

If you’re serious, you want you create an avatar. This avatar is going to be who your content is for. If you were creating content for only one person in the world, who would that person be? Whenever you’re creating anything… courses, articles, info products, you want to market to them, your ideal customer.

Here are some of the things you want to think about when creating your avatar:

  • Name
  • Sex
  • What kind of life do they want
  • How much money do they want to make
  • What stresses them out
  • What makes them happy
  • Their personality type
  • Who is their competition

All of these things are listed in the worksheet here.

How to get people into your funnel

After you’ve put in place the “before math” and all the lights are on before people get to the party, it’s time to promote, promote, promote.

One major way to kill the lifespan of your funnel is to only put out one opt-in in hopes that it’s going to bring thousands of people into your funnel and buying your product.

That’s like passing out one flyer in hopes that your party is going to be flooded with people. The odds of that happening is slim to none!

Every time someone clicks on anything that belongs to your brand you want them to be somewhere inside of your funnel.

If they’re clicking on a pin about vegan recipes, you want that pin to take them to an article with delicious vegan recipes and inside of that article, you want to place another amazing opt-in related to the article to keep the funnel going.

The key to a healthy Sales Funnel is to ALWAYS keep your audience in your funnel. No, you’re not a sleazy salesman, you’re providing value to someones life and they will later thank you for it.

We got to sit down with one of the top performing Insurance agents in the Atlanta, GA area to discuss what it’s like using digital marketing to grow and build her business.

Deanna, has been in the insurance industry for over 3 years and has just recently decided to go digital with her business. She feels as though it has and will continue to help her business grow.

We discussed her biggest battles and everything in between. She doesn’t hold back when describing what it’s like being an insurance agent trying to get ahead.

We asked Deanna:

What made you want to get into the insurance industry?

After years of working for other companies, I went searching for a purpose. I applied for a position as a claims adjuster for a well known insurance company. I got the position! Working as a claims adjuster, I realized that I really love working in the insurance industry. This industry makes me a lot of money and there’s potential to grow.

After a year and a few months there I decided to switch gears a little bit. I’ve always had the entrepreneurial spirit and I knew that I didn’t want to be stuck in a cubical for the rest of my life. I had the “aha moment”. I love helping people, I love insurance. Why not become an insurance agent? I get to help people, I get to be my own boss and there wouldn’t be a limit on how much I can make. That’s how I ended up being an insurance agent!

How has the digital world shaped your business?

The internet has shaped my business in amazing ways! It has allowed for exposure which is great! A lot of times when people are looking to buy from your business, one of the first places they go is the internet.

I’m a big fan of social media, if you use it the right way social media is a wonderful tool. It allows people to see me as a person and they get to choose. If they like what I’m putting out, if they like the content that I’m sharing, then I’m a right fit for them. Vise versa, I can look at my client and see if I’d want that person as a client. There are a lot of negative sides to it. A lot of people think you can only build a business off the internet – it is possible but you definitely have to place your seeds in other avenues when it comes to building a business but it is my number one go to.

What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in your business and what did you find that has helped you overcome those challenges?

A lot of people think that entrepreneurship is easy and glamorous and anybody could do it and that is just not the case.

Personal experience, I’ll just be completely transparent. I walked away from a corporate position to pursue entrepreneurship and I fell on my face hard. I actually ended up loosing almost everything that belongs to me. From my home, to my car. Didn’t have any money. If I can just be honest, you have to have a certain mindset going into entrepreneurship and I got caught up in “I can do this, I can make my own hours, I don’t have to answer to somebody…”. My mindset was focused on the benefits of it after you do the hard work of entrepreneurship. I went into it just wanting to reap the benefits, not really doing any hard work.

It is hard! Sometimes you’re working twelve…sixteen hour days for your business. With a nine to five, your off at five – you can leave that job there at that office. When you’re an entrepreneur, it follows you. You can’t just stick it on the shelf. That’s something that I had to learn, that my mindset was right!

If you go in with the right mindset, your willing to put in the work then it will be a great reward.

If you’re not ready to work really, really hard – sometimes things do not work out. I always say you have to have faith being a business owner or a entrepreneur.

You don’t know if you’re going to get paid or make that commission or make that amount of money until you’ve done all the work at the very end and you’re hoping and praying, moving in faith that someone is going to buy the product, or close that deal or whatever it is that you’re doing.
If you don’t have the strong faith and your mindset’s not right, I advise you not to go into entrepreneurship.

How do you prioritize your time?

Let me just say, I’m not the most organized person in the world. I’m okay with that. I’m working on that. Spending years working for somebody else, you’re given a schedule and then you work that schedule. Going back to the mindset shift, a paradigm shift.  I had to create my own schedule and at first before I shifted my mindset I’m like “Oh cool, I can work whenever I want…” and I’m like sleeping till one o’ clock in the afternoon and I’m not getting anything done. That’s part of the reason I didn’t have much success earlier.

Now, I’ve adapted the mindset of working my business like a business. My competitors are not other insurance agents, it’s Chick-fil-A. It’s the major fortune five hundred companies that call their workers – they hire people to come in at seven am to make those phone calls. You on the phone till twelve and you take an hour lunch break and then you’re back at it from one until it’s time to go home.

For me to see success in my business, I run my business like a business because essentially it’s my livelihood.

I have children so I have to get up earlier than most people who do not have children. Nine am, I’m in the office checking my emails, I’m seeing who I need to follow up with, scheduling appointments. By ten thirty, I’m in the office on the phone making calls.

I know that was long and drawn out. I prioritize my time as if I were still working for corporate america.

How do you plan to use your future website to grow our business?

Good question! I’m a millennial, in the 21st century and where the world is shifting you have to have multiple streams of income and one of the ways you can do that is to turn your passion into a paycheck.7 day blog money making guide

Yes, I’m passionate about insurance and customer service but I do have a passion to help mothers because I am a mom. I want to use my website to reach people that are out of my area. I’m in Georgia, Georgia is big it’s like six million people and counting but there’s a whole world out there that I know I have something to say that can reach another mother out there that’s maybe going through similar things that I am going through and have gone through. We can win together.

I know that if I can just share my story and get her to make a better decision or make her feel like she’s not alone then I’ll feel like I’m making my mark here in the world.

That’s how I’m going to be using my internet business to help people.

And then of course, I believe as an entrepreneur you monetize everything.

Where do you see yourself and your business in the next five years?

Operating a insurance agency with loyal employees and living off my residuals of working so hard.

And also being a internet phenomenon for moms! Helping moms have financial freedom and also helping moms have it all because I always felt like you can have it all! You can be a stay a home mom and make a good income and still be at home with your family…still take care of the household – it’s doable. The internet has made this possible!

In five years, I do see myself living that life!

Set One Realistic Goal

Running a business can be tedious. Us entrepreneurs have a ton of task that we need to do, and it’s not just because we ‘want’ to do it, it’s because we ‘need’ to do it for our business to continue on the right track.

⇒Ask yourself, “What is one of the coolest things that can happen with my business this year?

Use that one cool thing as your focal point. Forget about everything else and make that one goal your target for 2019!

⇒Once you have that one main goal, break it down into three little goals to make it happen.

⇒As a last goal setting step, give each small goal three habits. These habits should be incorporated into your daily life somehow.

Use the Right Tools

I know it sucks to spend money. One of the major obstacles I overcame was the fear of spending money on my business. I had to realize that my fear came from the thought that I wasn’t going to make the money back.

I’m all about the frugal life so forking out big bucks for business necessities was not my thing until recently.

There is going to come a time where you will need to fork out cash for the success of your business. (Investing in yourself.)

I’m encouraging you to not hold back. Worst case scenario, you spend that money on a burger.

Make Money Blogging In 2019

Today I’m going to go over how you can make $100k+ per year as a blogger

Last week I received a $1,348 from an affiliate through a blog post that I haven’t edited in months.

When it came through I was sitting next to my brother which I shared the news with. He was shocked, because he didn’t think blogging was something people actually made money from. If you’re still thinking about starting a blog in 2019, here’s a good place to start.

He honestly thought that I just sit and play around on the computer all day. His exact words were “how do you make money blogging?”

To be honest, it was so hard to sum it up into just one answer. Then I figured that he may not be the only one wondering “how do all of these people make money blogging?”

I used to sit online all day doing surveys and transcribing, which don’t get me wrong you can make money with those options. However, I knew I deserved more for my hard work and I believe that you do too!

1. Start by setting realistic goals

At first, it will be hard setting goals about how much money you plan to make because you may not have anything to base your set amount off of. Just keep that in mind when you are getting started. Your goals will become more head on as you go.

When setting your initial goals earning $10,000+ a month when you have no products to sell and no followers may not be ideal. Starting small with $100-$500 is a good place to start.

My first month blogging goals were:

  • Earn: $100 I planned on using it to invest back into my site being that I spent $49 on hosting
  • Pinterest Followers: 100

Now my goals look much more like this:

  • Earn: $20,000 per month. Currently saving for a new home.
  • Schedule 100+ pins a day (using Tailwind once a week)
  • Write 1 Weekly Newsletter using MailChimp.
  • Grow my Pinterest Following 500 a month.

GOALS ARE SO IMPORTANT!

Thinking about the amount of money you want to make for the things you want in life makes it so much easier to want to wake up and work for your goals everyday.

Thinking about being able to create the freedom you deserve because of the blogging business you created started to pay off.

Start your own money making blog

Before you can make money blogging or online, you need to actually build a site right? Starting a blog or building a site can be a lot to take on. There is so much you need to know, and it can seem hard if you’re a one man show.

2. Focus on one marketing platform

Currently, I focus on Pinterest being that it is my #1 source for traffic.

Side note: If you are new to blogging, but really want to increase the money you make blogging there are a few things that I recommend

Tailwind: Tailwind is a Pinterest scheduler I use daily.

With Tailwind you can find new things to pin by using group boards called Tribes, or searching within Tailwind.

3. I Make Most of My Money from my Sales Funnel

Having a sales funnel in place is SO important as a blogger. Not having or making enough money is so disappointing, especially when you so desperately want blogging to become your job like I did in the beginning.

For months I was unsatisfied with my income because I thought I didn’t need a sales funnel and I was making it out to be this impossible really hard thing to put in place.

After months of research and trial and error I finally figured out how to build a sales funnel and properly funnel people into it. This is KEY if you want to make money blogging.

The key to having a bomb sales funnel that works:

  • Knowing what your product is
  • Knowing who your audience is
  • Automation in place
  • Email list
  • Knowing how to target your audience
  • Knowing how and where and what times to post your products and opt-ins

Affiliate links are looked over all the time by digital entrepreneurs looking to monetize their business.

I’ve made tons of money over the years with affiliate links without really trying. I just kind of said “hey, here’s this really cool thing that has worked for me and maybe it’ll work for you too.”

Depending on which company you’re working with, you can profit thousands of dollars, I’ve seen it happen!

eBooks

eBooks are a great way to make money with your digital business. We are in the era of information, where there’s a lot of it floating around and it’s really easy to get. Why not become apart of that to leverage your income?

Many bloggers have become virtual assistants as a way to work in their field, gain flexibility, and still support themselves financially while building their business.

Even if you can’t find work as a virtual assistant, there’s a ton of WAH jobs out there just waiting for you to snatch them up. Check out 20 of them here.

Advertising

This is another major source that many people overlook when trying to monetize their blog.

For many bloggers, ads have become a main source of income. I will be realistic with you to give you some kind of idea on how much you can make and what you need to do to make a certain amount. In order to make anywhere from $800-$1600/month you would need to bring in around at least 100k page views per month.

Promotion

One of the main things I absolutely love about Instagram and Youtube, is that there’s promo everywhere!

It’s a win-win for both parties, the company gains exposure, popularity, and sales from referrals while the blogger earns actual cash from the company.

It’s an exchange process.

Normally how it works is either a company will reach out to you or you’ll reach out to a company to market/review their product to your audience in exchange for profit.

Passive income, means literally to make money in your sleep. This is the ultimate goal for most people.

If you’re someone whose wanting to some day wake up to random deposits in your account that you can actually live off of, working towards passive income is what you want to do.

This can be done  in many different ways. A great example would be creating a course or or workshop similar to these.

You want your content to be something that your viewers can access and gain from year-round. A great example would be this article. I published it almost a year ago, however I’m still profiting from it today.

The amazing part about passive income is that you get to choose what you want to create and then profit from your own creation.

Online Store

I’ve seen many bloggers attach an online store to their blog. It’s almost as if it’s expected for bloggers to have some kind of store or “shop” tab within their blog.

What you choose to sell within that store is totally up to you.

I’ve known others to make thousands of dollars off drop shipping alone, and then sell a course on how others can do the same.

Freelance

Recently, there’s been a plethora of bloggers and just overall digital content creators turning to freelancing as a source of full time income.

I myself have freelanced in the past and I still do some freelance work occasionally.

It is not wrong to use your audience to market your services. With them being already primed with your personality type and way of life, they are more susceptible to trust you with their money in exchange for your services.

Amazing platforms that others have seen major profit from within the freelance community are Fiverr and Upwork.

Paid Memberships 

Paid memberships, are something that many bloggers don’t think about doing.

For an example, when you’re paying $9/month for Netflix to continue steaming amazing tv shows every week it doesn’t seem like much right? It’s way cheaper than cable and you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck.

On the flip side, imagine 1,000,000 people using Netflix all paying the same $9/month fee, well that’s $9,000,000/month for one company!

You can take that same concept and apply it to your blog! Actually, I hope that you do!

Donations

Depending on what kind of blog you’re running and what kind of community you’ve built, it may be perfectly okay to ask for donations.

If you’re someone like me who doesn’t like to be too pushy, just leave a “donate” link at the end of each article or create a specific page where your audience can go to donate.

How To Be Extremely Productive & Get More Done Each Day

Today, I’m going to lay out my entire game plan for you guys and then, I’m going to show you exactly how you can do the same exact thing.

I used to be one of those people who thought I had my entire life together that I didn’t need a planner or set schedule until one day, I realized that my life was in complete chaos. Well, not complete chaos, but I wasn’t getting really anything done. 

I was trying to juggle so many task at once that I just got overwhelmed thinking about it, which resulted in me doing hardly anything to move towards my goals.

The day I realized that my life was all over the place, I didn’t want to put myself or my business through it anymore. So, I sat down and started looking for planners on Pinterest. I must’ve looked at about 50 planners or workbooks and some of them were inspiring but none of them was exactly what I needed.

Finally, I said the heck with it and created the perfect planner/schedule for myself. Here’s a look at what the average day for me is like:

Wake up at 7, make coffee, eat breakfast – As soon as I wake up, I head towards the kitchen to make coffee. Without coffee, I will be a walking, talking zombie for the entire day. Normally while the coffee is brewing, I’ll have a snack. If I eat too heavy in the morning, I’ll feel stuffed and lazy for half the day and I always try to start my day off great so it can continue throughout the entire day.

Walking, work day job, relax –  Even though I work remotely, I still consider it a day job. With that being said, I reserve walking for the mornings of my off days which normally totals out to be around 4-5 miles weekly. If it’s a normal work day, I like to take a few hours to relax as soon as I get off work. Relaxation time for me means…taking a mid-day shower, watching Netflix, pinning on Pinterest, running errands or eating a snack.

Work on business, read, prepare for next day – Usually, when it’s time for me to work on UYS, I already have planned out exactly what needs to be done for the day so I’m not sitting in front of the computer completely clueless and procrastinating. When I’m done working on UYS task, I prepare for the next day by setting all my alarms and adding any extra last minute task to the schedule. Once I’m in bed for the night, I try to end the day with continuing to read whichever book I’m working my way through at the moment. Key word is “try”.

After scheduling out everything day by day, I realized that my assumed “busy” life, is actually pretty manageable. I work in IT remotely for 8 hrs a day so I don’t have to get dressed for work (thank God), and then I spend about 2-4 hrs working on my business in the afternoon.

So, you really want to know how I have the time to run 2 blogs, 2 Pinterest accounts, 2 Instagram accounts, 1 Youtube channel, & work an 8 hour day job?

The key is to plan, plan, plan. Schedule out even the slightest detail of your day and stick to it. Here’s a couple of things you can do to be your most productive self every single day:

  • Kick procrastination to the curb. Time is extremely valuable, once you lose it you’ll never get it back. Recognize whatever it is that’s wasting your time, and kick it to the curb.
  • Set alarms for everything. Lets be honest, your phone is one you at least 90% of the day. Setting an alarm at least 30 mins before you have to start a task is the best way to hold yourself accountable.
  • Be realistic with yourself. You know what you’re capable of taking on, only place on your schedule what you know you’ll be able to do, otherwise it can become easy to get overwhelmed and not complete anything you set out to do.
